Project Overview

Appman was forming a new SaaS product team when the company reached out to me, I knew this would be the kind of project I take on: challenging, unique, and, of course, we take it seriously. The initial pitch was simple: let's build an electronic authentication designed for all businesses and industries.

Our team was nothing like I had ever experienced before. They pushed me hard to explore uncharted paths that usually led to a better solution to the problem we were trying to solve. This remains one of the best projects I've been lucky enough to participate in. By the time I've been here, we did a lot of research and were able to find out a lot of pain points that we can find a solution for it in terms of electronic authentication.

EKYC Solution

Around the world, governments require many businesses, such as financial institutions, to understand who their customers are. These policies are generally known as Know Your Customer (KYC) and are designed to identify and prevent instances of money laundering and other financial crimes.

The key requirement of KYC is identity verification - ensuring that a customer or client is actually who they say they are.

For our clients, we provide an OCR solution to read and identify ID cards and also a Face recognition feature that we integrated with Facetech, our partner, to ensure that this person is real.

Background Check

The additional feature extended from EKYC is Background Check. In the traditional way, human resource departments have to do criminal checks and employment verification for candidates which could take a week or two to verify. As our solution, we can check all the necessary things within 1 day with not just criminal or employment checks but also licenses like insurance licenses, investment licenses, global sanctions lists, and bankruptcy checks. The only thing that end user have to do is to sign eSignature.
